What services does the wedding coordinator provide at Honeysuckle Hills?

Your day-of-wedding coordinator at Honeysuckle Hills will set up wedding chairs provided by the venue if needed, greet your guests and tell them when to be seated, and line up the wedding party and tell them when and where to walk.  She will create and implement your itinerary and do her best to keep your event on time.  If your package does not include a DJ, she will play ceremony music on a bluetooth speaker provided by the venue.  Honeysuckle Hills does not have a full sound system, but the bluetooth speaker typically is all you need for an elopement.  Some wedding packages include set-up of wedding decor that can be lifted by hand (guest book, silk flowers, signs, etc.)

Is wedding decor included at the Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue?

The Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue is always “wedding ready,” decorated in a pleasing, simplistic fashion.  Greenery adorns the granite stone arch and a garland with white flowers sits atop the wooden arbor called Creekside Ridge.  White florals and country, historical accents are sprinkled throughout, including centerpieces in the reception area.  The seasonal flower gardens and hardscapes pull together a charming wedding aesthetic that encourages guests to linger.  Honeysuckle Hills is especially designed for couples who want an easy, uncomplicated way to get married in the Smoky Mountains.

Couples who book a package with enough time are welcome to bring along personal decor such as a guest book, favors, pictures, or signs.  The coordinator will set up these items for you as described in your wedding contract.

Couples who wish to fully transform the venue into their own dreamscape are referred to an outside vendor who offers their own individual decorating packages. A full day’s booking is required for extensive decorating.  This option is rare at Honeysuckle Hills and not typical of their brand.

Does Honeysuckle Hills provide additional wedding arbors or rentals?

Honeysuckle Hills refers its couples to outside vendors such as Marsh Made Designs and Custom Love Gifts and Events to rent uniquely shaped arbors such as hexagons, triangles, horns, and crosses.  Most couples are fully pleased with the permanent options already in place at Honeysuckle Hills such as the wooden arbor and granite stone arch, or they prefer an unobstructed, organic view at the mountain meadow.

Is there a specific time of year that Honeysuckle Hills allows wedding photos with their horses?

Honeysuckle Hills is the perfect venue for pictures with horses during the months of mid-March, April, May, September, October, and early November.  The most requested month for photos with the horses at Honeysuckle Hills is in late April and early May because of the yellow buttercups that bloom in the horse field.  Photos with horses are more challenging in June through August because of the intense heat, humidity, and flying pests in the pasture.  Photos with horses are not available from mid November through February because of the muddy conditions in the horse field.

Content creation is not guaranteed at Honeysuckle Hills, but it’s highly likely.  Your coordinator loves to capture as many emotional moments as possible to share with the world and show others how beautiful it is at our venue.  Please hire your own content creator if you wish to have more control of the type of content that is created.  We will not post social media content of your wedding if you ask us to maintain your privacy.

How many guests does the Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue accommodate?

Honeysuckle Hills comfortably hosts weddings for up to 30 guests.  The maximum capacity is 50, but Regina encourages smaller guest counts to prioritize a more relaxing, peaceful wedding experience.  After two decades of orchestrating grand-scale events, Honeysuckle Hills now intentionally hosts more intimate weddings to provide a level of attention that is impossible to sustain in larger crowds.

Who counts as a wedding guest as the Honeysuckle Hills venue?

Anyone of walking age who is present at your wedding is considered a guest at Honeysuckle Hills.  Yes, children ESPECIALLY count and are required to be supervised at all times.  Even people that “only want to watch” are considered a guest, unless they are participating via Zoom, Facetime, etc.

Can I bring more guests than is recommended in my wedding package at Honeysuckle Hills without upgrading?

No, you should never bring more than the recommended guest count for your wedding package at Honeysuckle Hills.  This typically causes a more rushed, hurried experience, which is exactly the opposite of what our venue was created for.  While all weddings are unique, please do not forget the human element of your event that is responsible for the best memories.  Also keep in mind that our recommended guest count is only one of the many factors you should use to determine the amount of time needed for a successful and satisfying wedding.  Also consider the time needed for all your photos and extra events such as a first dance or cake cutting.

Does the Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue have a place I can get dressed?

Yes, Honeysuckle Hills has two different places to get dressed before your wedding ceremony in the upstairs area of the barn.  The bridal suite is large enough for up to six people to prepare for the wedding.  The restroom for the bridal suite is located in the chapel area next to it.

The wedding chapel separates the bridal suite from the second dressing area at Honeysuckle Hills.  This area has a dedicated, smaller room to get dressed or use the restroom, holding approximately three people at a time.  It has an adjacent sitting area for anyone who wishes to relax or wait their turn to get dressed.

Because the dressing rooms are located upstairs in a historic building at Honeysuckle Hills, they do not cool as well during the summer months when temperatures exceed 85 degrees outdoors.  It’s recommended to have hair and makeup done off-site in June, July and August and only use the dressing areas on-site to change clothes during those months.

When is the best time of year to book a wedding at Honeysuckle Hills?

The most popular months for weddings at Honeysuckle Hills in Pigeon Forge, TN are April, May, and October.  These months are in the highest demand because of the plentiful blooms in the spring and the gorgeous fall foliage from mid October through the first week in November.  Weather is typically more pleasant during these months as well.

September is an often overlooked wedding month at Honeysuckle Hills, but it is actually one of the best months to get married in the Smoky Mountains.  Aside from the annual Fall Rod Run car show week, September has fewer crowds because school is back in session and the leaves have not started changing colors yet.  It’s the “calm before the fall storm.”  Honeysuckle Hills has an abundance of flowers and garden features in September, and the heat of summer finally breaks with cooler temperatures by the middle of the month.

When is the worst time to book a wedding at Honeysuckle Hills in the Smoky Mountains?

While there is no “bad” time to book a wedding at Honeysuckle Hills, there are months with temperature and weather anomalies that should be considered.  There are seasonal aspects at the Honeysuckle Hills venue year-round for gorgeous wedding photos and pleasing aesthetics over-all.  It is a beautiful location in which guests tend to linger longer with the exception of a few months.  July and August are especially hot and humid, and couples should schedule their weddings as late in the day as possible.  December through early March should be booked with caution in case it snows, making the mountain roads too dangerous for travel.  Always check the Pigeon Forge event calendar for dates with higher traffic such as the spring and fall car shows.

Is the reception area at the Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue open year round?

The reception area at Honeysuckle Hills in Pigeon Forge is not open year round.  The best time to have a wedding reception at the Honeysuckle Hills venue is during the months of April, May, September and October.  The reception area is closed from October 31st through March 21st.

Is the reception area at Honeysuckle Hills heated and cooled?

Yes, the Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue’s reception area is both heated and cooled.  However, this area is not fully insulated and therefore does not hold heat and air as effectively as a dedicated indoor reception space. It is most comfortable during the months of April, May, September and October.  It is actually the coolest area of the barn in July and August because it is downstairs.  The reception area is closed from October 31st through March 21st because cold air rises up through the floor, creating a drafty chill.

Is the Creekside pavilion at Honeysuckle Hills available for a reception dinner?

Yes, couples may use the Creekside Pavilion for their reception meal at Honeysuckle Hills in the months of April and October as long as their guest count is 30 people or less.  There is a small upcharge for the coordinator to move tables to this area for use by both the guests and the caterer’s buffet line.

Does the Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue have lodging on-site?

Does getting ready count as venue time at Honeysuckle Hills?

Yes, using our dressing areas to change, do hair & makeup, first looks, etc. counts as venue time.  Even if you get ready off-site, allow at least a one hour transition period prior to your ceremony to change into wedding attire, allow guests to arrive, use the restroom, grab a bottle of water,, and allow our coordinator to get all your ducks in a row.

The views, ceremony sites and photography locations at Honeysuckle Hills are in one convenient area so couples don’t have to sit in traffic going from place to place, wait their turn in public locations, or worry about National Park permits and restrictions.  The venue is “wedding ready” with pleasing decor, a place to get  dressed, a back up plan in case it rains, and you’ll work with the same wedding planner, Regina, from start to finish.  It’s also one of the only places in the Smokies where you can have wedding photos with horses.

The best months to capture that beautiful golden sun ball descending in the middle of the mountain view is during the months of October and November.  It is ONLY during these months that the sun sets directly in the middle of the mountain because of its position in the sky.  The sun sets further to the right of the mountain in the months of March through early September.

Is Honeysuckle Hills a child friendly wedding venue?

Honeysuckle Hills has open spaces for children to run and play, a creek, and even a sandbox.  While children are cherished and welcome at the venue, please ensure that you have responsible adults to supervise any child present AT ALL TIMES.  Similar to any park or outdoor location, there are safety hazards for children such as sharp rocks in the creek, stinging insects, snakes in the wooded areas, a fire table, and horses.  Honeysuckle Hills does not offer child care and will ask any parent with unruly children to exit the premises if we feel their safety is especially compromised.

Is Honeysuckle Hills a barn style wedding venue?

Honeysuckle Hills does have a barn on the property, originally built in 1950.  However, the barn was remodeled in 2006 and looks more like a cabin inside with its tongue and groove pine walls in the dressing areas and wedding chapel upstairs.  As many historical aspects as possible have been maintained, including Regina’s great-grandfather’s old mule harness and plows as decorative accents downstairs.  The garden areas at Honeysuckle Hills are what makes it so uniquely special, however.  Regina transformed her Daddy’s old hay field surrounding the barn into a photographer’s paradise with a cottage garden aesthetic.
