ABOUT US
About Honeysuckle Hills
Honeysuckle Hills is a wedding venue in the mountains of Pigeon Forge, TN with a variety of ceremony and photography sites on a 30-acre farm. Most are easily accessed on the five acres of gardens and creek surrounding a historic 1950 barn, remodeled with a cabin-like interior of pine wood. Hello from Regina! I transformed my family farm into a photographer’s playground, so you’ll have a better wedding than the typical chapel, cabin, or roadside options. In addition to traditional wedding offerings, consider a unique experience like photos with our horses or a Jeep ride to the top of our horse pasture with a view! Whether you’re tame or adventurous, low-budget or luxury-minded, I have a package you’ll love for your elopement or reception.
Couples just like you have helped me carry on a legacy of love for the past 19 years. At one time my venue was a working farm where my Daddy raised cattle and tobacco. As much as I enjoyed growing up here, I sure do enjoy weddings more than farming! My venue’s down-to-earth attitude attracts Christians, outdoor lovers, hikers, fishers, hunters, conservationists, travelers, adventurers, all skin colors, LGBTQ lovers, and free-spirited souls with an abundance of respect for diversity. My family believes that our own personal faith in Jesus Christ fosters abounding love to welcome all with open arms and a servant’s heart.
I’m your point of first contact as your wedding planner. Other team members include Sierra, who came into our lives in 2016, later marrying my son in 2020. When she’s not taking care of my granddaughter, you’ll find her behind a camera or coordinating. Her best friend, Abi, joined us in 2021. Abi is both a joyful and spirited coordinator as well as one of our ceremony officiants. (Be sure to look for our Facebook Live sessions!) I tend to be a “catch all” for venue duties, so you will likely see me as a coordinator, gardener, office manager, photographer and / or horse wrangler. Or… just that happy girl who is living her best life!
The most unique aspect of the Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue is its variety of ceremony and photography locations to choose from. Most are located within the five acres of landscaping on the main grounds near the barn, all within walking distance of each other. However, they are spread out just enough so they’re not one on top of the other. We may book more than one ceremony each day, but never at the same time. Some packages offer exclusive use of the venue for the day. Parking is adjacent to the barn where the ceremony and photography sites are located on the main grounds, and the family-friendly mountain view sites have their own parking area.
Our family friendly mountain view ceremony sites are located on the back side of our 30-acre farm. They’re a short, one-minute drive from the main grounds on public roads with a parking lot for ten to twelve vehicles. Our mountain view adventure site is also located in this area but is only accessed by Jeep or 4×4 off road vehicle, limiting it to couples only weddings or photography sessions. In my pre-teens I sat on this hill while baby cows licked my bare toes. The acres of land in between those used for weddings compromise horse pasture and my mother’s home. Most of our family has lived here since 1983. Our venue’s main grounds are right in the middle of our acreage along a country road. Sierra, my mother and sister all live within walking distance of the main grounds. I live three miles from the venue on private Starkey land that has been in my family for almost two centuries and borders the Smoky Mountain National Park. You can be my neighbor during your visit if you stay at Starkey’s Homestead or Little Mountain Hideaway! Starkey’s Homestead has a private man-made waterfall for your personal enjoyment.
My parents met in the mid-1900’s walking along Mill Creek Road to the schoolhouse by Hurst Chapel Baptist Church. They married and set up housekeeping close by, later moving to the farm in 1983 after the original homeowner, Zula Brackins, became widowed and sold the property to my father. To understand more of the land’s history, the property was given to Ms. Zula’s father-in-law by the government in exchange for taking his land for the National Park. It was farmed with tobacco and black angus cattle from the early days until my father passed away from lung cancer in 2005. The Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue is a loving testament to his memory and all the old-timers in overalls who fell in love tying tobacco leaves, gossiping across fences and enjoying the small things in life.
Our venue is only three miles from traffic light #10 in Pigeon Forge. This gives us much more privacy than locations along busy highways but it is not too far away for your guests who want to vacation in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. There are many cabins within five minutes of the venue, and hotels as close as ten minutes away. The Smoky Mountains are a huge draw for tourists year-round, so your expectation for guest RSVPs should be 90% of those invited. Dolly Parton’s theme park, Dollywood, is the second largest draw to our area next to the Smoky Mountain National Park itself. Our town is full of entertainment for all ages. I recommend keeping the guest count as low as possible to enjoy the peaceful intimacy our weddings are so well known for.
The most challenging part of a Honeysuckle Hills wedding is narrowing down the sites for your photographs. Unless the artist is named otherwise, all the images you see on our website and social media pages were created by Regina, Sierra, or Abi.
We hope to meet you soon and add you to our ever-growing love story!
