Family Friendly Mountain View
Mountain Meadow Ceremony site for up to 30 guests
Honeysuckle Hills has a private, mountain view wedding ceremony site adjacent to the main grounds. Its called our “family friendly” mountain view to distinguish it from the mountain wedding adventure site that requires a ride in our jeep to the top of the pasture for couples only. Our family friendly mountain ceremony site will accommodate up to 30 of your family and friends. Nestled in the Smoky Mountains, this site is unique with a combination of views, rolling hills, and seasonal wildflower gardens. You and your guests will have fun “going on an adventure” to your mountain ceremony site after everyone gets dressed on the main grounds. (Dressing room time varies by package.) Honeysuckle Hills also solves the problem for couples seeking a more authentic mountain experience in the middle of nature combined with a reception that doesn’t require their guests to drive several miles afterward.
After the ceremony, photos can be taken at the view followed by the main grounds using places like our waterwheel, the bridges, flower gardens, a creek, and even horses. Be sure you book a package that includes enough time for all the stunning photo spots you wish to include. If you book our “Simply the Ceremolny” package with a ceremony at the view, all photos must be taken there since it’s our smallest package. Honeysuckle Hills has an abundance of ceremony sites, but your wedding is the only one we will host during the time you reserve with us.
If it rains, we can easily change your ceremony site to the chapel or covered pavilion on the main grounds. If you’ve reserved enough time, you can always return to the mountain view later when it stops raining for your wedding photos. We always keep two clear umbrellas on hand as well.
There are two family friendly mountain view ceremony sites to choose from at Honeysuckle Hills. The most popular is “Lover’s Cove.” It’s accessed directly across from the main grounds of our venue with it’s own driveway and parking area, and is an easy drive on a flat road. You’ll notice its driveway to the left as you approach our famous red barn and the sign for Honeysucke Hills on the right. Your guests will walk a short distance from its separate parking area to the ceremony site on flat ground. Because it resembles Cades Cove in the National Park, this is my favorite place on the farm. The cosmos wildflower garden made this our number one requested ceremony site in September and October last year! The best ceremony time here in the spring and summer is approximately two hours before sunset when there is abundant shade. The sun is lower and in a different position in the sky in mid-September through February, making it a popular choice for sunset weddings as the beautiful, golden sun ball goes down right in the middle of the mountain ridge.
The second family friendly mountain ceremony site is accessed from a public road that circles around our farm. This drive is a little more steep and curvy, but not nearly as precarious as many of the other mountain venues in Gatlinburg. It only takes a minute to get there from the main grounds. There’s a short walk from its own parking area below (separate from the one designated for Lover’s Cove.) There’s room to park one car or drop off guests right next to this ceremony site, making it a great choice if one of your guests uses a wheelchair. It’s shaded four to five hours before sunset in spring and summer but has no shade in the fall and winter due to the sun’s parallax. Wildflowers usually bloom at the end of the ceremony site and alongside the banks in April through early June. The ultimate timing, abundance, and length of blooming depends on temperature and rainfall. Be prepared to walk through meadow grass or stand on the bank for the best photos in these colorful flowers.
Honeysuckle Tradition
I’m Regina, and I look forward to helping you plan your special day! Couples just like you have helped me carry on a legacy of love for the past 20 years. At one time my venue was a working farm where my Daddy raised cattle and tobacco. As much as I enjoyed growing up here, I sure do enjoy weddings more than farming!
My venue’s down-to-earth love for the simple things in life attracts outdoor lovers, travelers, adventurers, hunters, fishers, hikers, all skin colors, faiths, LGBTQ, and free spirited souls with an abundance of respect for diversity.
I can’t wait to celebrate your unique love story!
