Family Friendly Mountain View
Mountain Meadow Ceremony site for up to 50 guests
Honeysuckle Hills has a private, mountain view wedding ceremony site only a few minutes from the main grounds. Its called our “family friendly” mountain view to distinguish it from the mountain wedding adventure site that requires a ride in our jeep to the top of the pasture for couples only. Many couples call it “Lover’s Cove” for its similarity to Cades Cove in the National Park. This site accommodates a maximum of 50 of your family and friends. Nestled in the Smoky Mountains, this site is unique with a combination of views, rolling hills, and seasonal wildflower gardens. It has a separate parking area just across from our historic red barn with a short walk on a level grass path to the ceremony spot. You and your guests will have fun “going on an adventure” to your mountain wedding after everyone gets dressed on the main grounds. (Dressing room time varies by package.)
Honeysuckle Hills solves the problem for couples seeking a more authentic mountain experience in the middle of nature combined with a reception that doesn’t require their guests to drive several miles afterward. Your secluded mountain wedding will be free from onlooking tourists, traffic, and does not require a National Park permit.
My favorite vendor for faux wedding arch rental is Robin with Lillies of Grace. She not only has arbor and floral rentals, but an entire treasure trove of other items you can use for your wedding with reception!
After the ceremony, photos can be taken at the view followed by images at the main grounds using places like our waterwheel, the bridges, flower gardens, a creek, and even horses. Be sure you book a package that includes enough time for all the stunning photo spots you wish to include. Honeysuckle Hills has an abundance of ceremony sites, but your wedding is the only one we will host during the time you reserve with us.
If it rains, we can easily change your ceremony site to the chapel or covered pavilion on the main grounds. If you’ve reserved enough time, you can always return to the mountain view later when it stops raining for your wedding photos. We always keep two clear umbrellas on hand as well.
This is my favorite wedding ceremony location on the farm. The cosmos wildflower garden made this our number one requested ceremony site in September and October last year! The best ceremony time here in the spring and summer is approximately two hours before sunset when there is abundant shade. The sun is lower and in a different position in the sky in mid-September through February, making it a popular choice for sunset weddings as the beautiful, golden sun ball goes down right in the middle of the mountain ridge.
Handicap accessibility to the mountain meadow is possible by driving through the grass pasture on level ground. A smaller mountain view ceremony site with better handicap access is located just above the mountain meadow, accessed with a short drive on a county road that circles around our farm. There’s a specific handicap parking area at that site. (Ask Regina for more details)
Honeysuckle Tradition
I’m Regina, and I look forward to helping you plan your special day! Couples just like you have helped me carry on a legacy of love for the past 20 years. At one time my venue was a working farm where my Daddy raised cattle and tobacco. As much as I enjoyed growing up here, I sure do enjoy weddings more than farming!
My venue’s down-to-earth love for the simple things in life attracts outdoor lovers, travelers, adventurers, hunters, fishers, hikers, all skin colors, faiths, LGBTQ, and free spirited souls with an abundance of respect for diversity.
I can’t wait to celebrate your unique love story!
