Choosing your February 2025 Wedding Date
February 21, 2024Choosing Your April 2025 Wedding Date
February 21, 2024Wedding season in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg often kicks off in the middle of March. I’m predicting March of 2025 will be extra busy with weddings because it has five Saturdays. The average temperature is in the upper 50’s, with more frequent swings into the 70’s and even the lower 80’s. However, there is still a good chance for snow the entire month of March. My mind always takes me back to the blizzard of 1993 when two feet of snow fell in the Smoky Mountains on March 12th. Don’t let that discourage you from a March wedding by any means, just plan it with a healthy dose of caution. Blizzards are rare, but an inch or two of snow is not uncommon this month. Be prepared for your hair to blow wildly, because the phrase, “In like a lion” is no joke.
What’s in bloom: Forsythia and the yellow blooms of daffodils start blooming any time after the first of March, depending on how many warm snaps we get. The famous willow tree at my Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue starts showing leaves any time after the middle of the month. If you have your heart set on getting married at our willow tree in all its green-leafed glory, however, I recommend waiting until after the middle of April if possible. I’ve seen a few cold snaps and snow force the willow to start all over again. Overall, March is a beautiful wedding month because you simply can’t beat the golden light providing specular highlights in your wedding photographs, combined with tender grasses showing pops of verdant green screaming, “SPRING!”
The most popular wedding dates in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in March 2025 will be the 14th, 7th, 20th, 22nd, and 29th. March 14th is “Pi Day” for all the math geniuses, the 17th is St. Patrick’s Day, and the 20th is spring solstice. Both of those dates are popular for couples.
