Covered & Indoor Areas

What If If Rains On My Wedding Day In The Smoky Mountains?

Honeysuckle Hills has several back up plans for rain on your wedding day, because your photography is a priority. All of our classic elopements allow you to change the ceremony or photography time for better weather conditions. But if it rains all day long we have several covered areas that can be used for both the ceremony and wedding photography.  The Creekside Pavilion is your “next-to-the best-thing” to an outdoor wedding ceremony, plus there are many areas we can take wedding photos inside it.  The pavilion is close to the barn exit, too, where I can take photographs of you beneath a rustic chandler by the stairs.  (By the way, you can get married under that chandelier, too!)

I love the rustic appeal of our barn doors, walls, antique stove and our balcony area. The balcony is accessed from the wedding chapel upstairs. I can photograph you by window light in the chapel, then slip outside to the balcony for even more beautiful images. The wedding chapel has hanging lights and pine walls much like the cabins here in the Smokies.

If you book our mountain waterfall location, it  has a small covered pavilion that works great with couples only weddings.  If you have a few guests, the near by shed can be used during the ceremony. The waterfall location has fewer covered areas if it rains, but it certainly has more than you’ll find at a waterfall deep in the heart of the National Park. Be sure to visit the Honeysuckle Falls website to see all the features at this unique, historic treasure in our mountains.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with using umbrellas or dancing in the rain! My most fun-loving couples do this and it always makes the sweetest memories.
