Choosing Your May 2025 Wedding Date

May is second only to October as the most popular month to get married in the Smoky Mountains. This is the holy grail of wedding months in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, so you must plan at least a year in advance, if not longer. The first two weeks of May are my personal favorite time of year for a wedding at Honeysuckle Hills because it’s the best weather and flower bloom.

The temperature in May averages the lower 80’s with rare swings in to the lower 90’s, but the humidity level is lower. (I did not say non-existent, but it’s lower than June through August for certain.) It’s always hard to predict how rainy it will be, but typically it’s about as average as it gets.

What’s in bloom: The Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue has red roses, yellow water iris, pink primrose, purple wisteria and rhododendron in bloom in early to mid-May. Purple must be May’s favorite color, because tall garden phlox abounds in shades of lavender, too!

The most popular wedding dates for Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in May 2025 will be the 3rd, 4th, 5th,10th, 17th, 20th, and 24th. May 4th is for Star Wars lovers (May the 4th be with you,”) May 20th is a palindrome date, and May 5th is numerically appealing because 5×5=25. All the other dates are popular simply because they are Saturdays in peak mountain wedding season.
